Six is a badass, but we all knew that when she beat Trent to death with her bare hands. Still it is good to see that the O’Kanes realize it too and that the gender roles in the book are pretty open. I loved the way she grew to find her own space in the gang and her own way to contribute. Also any girl who can pummel a guy in a cage is good by me.
*** No, not just a roar. Female screams of approval cut above the noise, and she saw a swell of movement over her opponent's shoulder. The O'Kane women, standing on the couches and cheering her on like she was their champion. Like she was one of them. She was gonna kick Elvis's ass. ***
I love men like Bren they really are my reading candy. I totally have a soft spot for the stoic current/former military man who is slightly possessive. Bren is a little more that slightly possessive once he makes a claim he isn’t likely to share her. Bren also isn’t into the general type of dominance so the rules he plays by are a bit different than the other couples in this series. That doesn’t mean the sex isn’t hot, because it totally is. Bren might not share but that doesn’t mean he won’t indulge Six and her voyeuristic tendencies while another couple shares. I don’t care who you are Dallas and Lex having a threesome is going to be good. But Dallas and Lex having a threesome while Six and Bren watch and explore their sexuality at the same time….SCORCHING HOT.
But Of course at some point someone in the couple needs to do something stupid so it all blows up before it can be put back together. Bren will need to discover what is really important to him and how much his vendetta against the man from Eden that burned him. Six will need to stand on her own two feet and find her true place in the O’Kanes if she is ever going to be one.
I’ve enjoyed both the story lines and the sexy times in this series. Even the snippets of the side character couples that you are waiting to hook up later have been peppered in just enough along with cameos of those already together. I love it all, I know Ace and Rachel’s book is next but I really want Madd’s book. I’m totally loving that man especially when he says something like this…

I’ve been on a smut binge for about three weeks and I’m good for a little while but I’ll definitely be jumping back into this series when I need another fix.

This book wasn't nearly as sexy as the first two books but this is a completely different couple & I have to appreciate that they are into a different scene. Six is still battling with her past from Sector 3 but at this point while Dallas is trying to take over that sector her help is very valuable. She isn't a member of the O'Kanes officially but they all accept her since Bren is vouching for her. Bren is a trained officer & works as Dallas' security & Six trusts him above all others. What was so hot about Noelle & Jasper as well as Lex & Dallas is the openness that they love everyone in their sector, with no jealousy. It is understood that one person holds their heart but many of the other members of the gang can sexually arouse them & make their relationship stronger & hotter. Lex & Dallas have a very hot interaction with Rachel & I was surprised at how far they went to put on a performance for Six's benefit! Six on the other hand gets off on watching all of this action while not participating in it herself. Six & Bren become incredibly close as he shows her how to open herself up sexually to anything that turns her on, & shows her it is ok to be turned on by watching. Like the first two books I loved how we get the other O'Kane men & women, not just the main characters of one particular story. Things are really heating up with Ace & Rachel & I can't wait to read their story! Ace helps out Bren & Six while they explore a little pain with their pleasure. The problem for Six comes when she finds out that Bren might have killed some innocent people in her sector which explains why Bren doesn't let himself get too close to Six. They are a great couple though!
My Review
In this book we finally get to see Bren and Six come together! She struggles with trying to come to terms that she is no longer required to have sex with men. He is sooooo used to being in her old sector that she has yet to trust that no one will hurt her. She also feels as though the only reason that she is allowed within the O’Kane circle is because of Bren.
I really enjoyed seeing her figure out who she is a person and not someone’s property. To struggle with her sense of identity and come to terms that she has more to offer someone than her body. That the O’Kane women like her for her and not because she is tied to Bren.
She also struggled with the idea that she was too broken to be loved. She desperately wanted Bren to love her and she wanted to love him, but her trust issues kept holding her back. She was just sooo scared. Not matter what men did to her physically she did not break. It was the emotional loss and deprecation that broke her more than anything. Everyone tends to think that physical abuse is the worse thing we can experience, but sometimes I think it is the emotional abuse that inflicts the deepest wounds. Physical wounds heal, but emotional wounds don’t heal as fast which can leave them to cause more permanent damage.
Bren was also struggling with his own past. He needed to work on letting go of his revenge to his old commander. He eventually had to decide which was more important his family or his hatred for Miller.
If you have not read these books please do. I really enjoy them. The 4th book should be coming out in March so hurry up and get caught up.
